Who are we, and what do we do?

**WINNER of the BEST NEW CLUB of  2013-2014**

**Honourable Mention  for Most Active club of  2013-2014**

We are the Biology Society of the University of Stirling.

We organise events such as trips to places like Blair Drummond Safari park as well as regular socials. We also invite special guest speakers to the club to speak about their profession and offer advice.

We meet every week to discuss problems students may be having with their course and to update students on new scientific discoveries and inventions.

Members of the Society gain a discounted rate of membership to the National Society of Biology.
The aims of this society are;

  • To integrate incoming students studying Biological, Ecological and sports sciences  by means of regular meetings, functions, activities and socials.
  • To improve the employability skills of students by working with the Careers development centre and developing practical skills.
  • To work in conjunction with the school of biological and environmental science (SBES) in order to bridge the gap between lecturers and students.
  • To offer students the opportunity to enhance their involvement in the subject of biology by registering with the national Society of Biology.
